The Olomouc region is situated in the northwest of Moravia in the Czech Republic. The main city of the region is Olomouc with a population of about 100 000 inhabitants. Due to fertile land for growing intensive plants the main industry of the area is an agricultural one. The secondary sector is oriented toward the engineering, food, textile, wood and chemical industries.
